Ontario taxi rates
Ontario taxi rates are set locally, while major airports can add their own rules. Choose the supported market that matches your trip.
Live calculators & fare guides
Ontario taxi fares are municipal, regional or airport-specific rather than one provincial meter.
Ontario taxi pricing can be municipal, regional, operator-set, zone-based or airport-specific. The directory now includes published meter markets, approved tariff-card markets and clearly labelled planning guides across the GTA, Niagara, York/Simcoe and a growing set of county-level regional guides in central and southwestern Ontario.
The expanding Ontario directory separates calculated markets from verified fare guides. Calculated pages have a current numeric tariff and a defensible jurisdiction match. Guide pages are used when rates are provider-set, when an airport sits outside the municipal tariff, or when the current numeric schedule is not publicly verifiable. This approach is slower than applying a generic per-kilometre number, but it produces more reliable answers for travellers and answer engines.
Southwest and eastern Ontario markets
These pages separate current municipal tariffs from operator-set or deregulated fare frameworks.
Eastern Ontario and cottage-country markets
These pages separate verified municipal tariffs and maximums from provider-priced markets where a current universal numeric fare is not published.
Remaining Niagara municipalities and Brant County
These pages extend verified regional maximum taxi rates across every remaining Niagara municipality and add the County of Brant zone-based fare card without guessing unmapped zones.

More Ontario taxi fare guides
This release adds a current County maximum-fare table where available and clearly labelled provider or planning guidance where municipal rules leave the passenger fare to the licensed operator or no universal current tariff is published.
More Ontario taxi fare guides
This release adds Kincardine’s verified 2026 meter tariff and new guides for municipally licensed taxi or vehicle-for-hire markets where the public framework does not provide one universal passenger rate that TaxiRates can safely assert.
More Ontario taxi fare guides
This release extends the verified Waterloo Region maximum taxi meter to all four rural townships and adds current licensing-based fare guides for North Perth, Brockton, Minto and Erin without turning operator licence fees into passenger fares.
More Ontario taxi fare guides
This release adds current licensing or municipal-source context for eight remaining Ontario markets and keeps every market without a verified universal passenger tariff clearly labelled as provider-priced planning guidance.
County-level taxi fare guides
Rural lower-tier municipalities are grouped into broader regional guides instead of being split into near-duplicate city pages. Strong standalone cities and towns with their own fare evidence remain separate.
