Taxi service at Northwest Regional Airport
YXT officially lists Kalum Kabs for Terrace, Coastal Taxi for Kitimat and Kitimat Taxi for Kitimat. The airport also lists hotel and regional shuttle services, giving arriving passengers several options depending on whether they are travelling to Terrace, Kitimat or another Northwest B.C. community.
For Terrace specifically, the airport is about 10 kilometres south of the city and describes the drive to downtown as approximately 15 minutes. That makes YXT a straightforward taxi trip geographically, but the passenger price still depends on the operator’s approved Region 5 meter.
Why TaxiRates shows a band instead of one YXT fare
Region 5 does not impose one identical meter on every taxi company. The Passenger Transportation Board sets minimum and maximum values for the flag, five-kilometre fare and hourly time rate, and licensees may choose rates within that band subject to the Board’s rules.
