Whitehorse is the territory’s fare-ready market. The City regulates vehicle-for-hire fares and publishes a 2026 maximum tariff with GST included.

Whitehorse uses a maximum taximeter rather than a province-wide or territory-wide taxi formula. The City’s 2026 schedule combines a $4.50 flag with $0.35 increments for distance or time. TaxiRates applies that rule only to Whitehorse and YXY, not to unrelated Yukon communities.
The airport/hotel $22 maximum is narrower than a universal airport flat fare. It applies to qualifying hotel-guest trips involving the defined Fare Zone, Downtown Area and Whitehorse International Airport, so TaxiRates explains the cap without assigning it automatically.
Unsupported communities are not forced into the capital-city tariff.
TaxiRates expands market by market. A fare rule verified for Whitehorse is not automatically applied across Yukon, because local licensing, operator pricing and airport arrangements can differ. New communities will be added only after a current municipal, territorial, airport or operator source is strong enough to support the result shown to passengers.

For a normal airport-to-home, airport-to-business or local Whitehorse ride, the 2026 taximeter is the cleanest fare basis. The meter can charge the $0.35 increment by distance or by time, so slower movement can affect the final total even when the road distance does not change. The $22 maximum deserves its own treatment because the by-law ties it to hotel guests and defined geographic terms.
