Why the Brandon meter is not automatically a YBR fare
Brandon Municipal Airport is located about 1.6 kilometres north of the City of Brandon. The municipal taxi tariff is written for trips that commence and terminate within the City, so TaxiRates does not extend the $3.80 / $0.20-per-95-metre meter to YBR as though the airport were an ordinary City address.
This is a jurisdiction issue, not a lack of taxi service. YBR is City-owned and actively serves passengers, but its physical location sits outside the tariff’s stated city-to-city scope.
What a YBR taxi may cost
One local operator, Brandon Sunset Taxi, currently publishes a typical Brandon-to-airport estimate of roughly $35 to $55. TaxiRates may show that range as operator guidance, but it is not treated as an official airport flat fare and it is not substituted for the City by-law.
Because operators can quote the airport transfer directly, passengers should confirm the amount when booking, especially for early-morning flights, larger vehicles or additional stops.
YBR remains a scheduled passenger airport
Brandon Municipal Airport currently advertises daily WestJet Encore service to Calgary. The terminal offers free parking, rental-car access and other passenger facilities.
That makes YBR a useful taxi market even though its airport fare needs separate treatment from the City meter.
