The Brandon maximum taxi tariff
Brandon’s current Tariff of Fares By-law sets the maximum metered taxi fare at $3.80 for the first 95 metres, then $0.20 for each additional 95 metres or fraction. Metered waiting is $0.10 for each 10 seconds or fraction, and the published tariff is inclusive of GST.
The Taxi By-law says flat-rate charging is not permitted for trips governed by the City tariff. TaxiRates therefore calculates ordinary Brandon-to-Brandon trips from the regulated meter and does not add a made-up flat fare or generic national per-kilometre estimate.
Why YBR is a guide instead of a city-meter total
Brandon Municipal Airport is City-owned but physically located about 1.6 kilometres north of the Brandon city limits. The City taxi by-law states that the metered tariff applies to trips commencing and terminating within the City, so TaxiRates does not automatically extend that tariff to YBR.
One local taxi operator currently advertises a typical Brandon-to-airport range of about $35 to $55. That is useful planning context, but it is an operator estimate rather than the City’s regulated YBR flat fare, so it stays clearly labeled as guidance.
