How the Estevan meter is calculated

Schedule E of Estevan Taxi Bylaw 2020-2020 sets the general taxi fares. The published schedule provides $5.50 for the hire of a taxi and $0.25 for each additional 100 metres or part of 100 metres. The same schedule allows $0.65 for each 60 seconds or part of waiting time at the direction of the passenger while the taxi is under engagement. What the Estevan bylaw says about flat pricing

Estevan’s Schedule E also says that if a flat rate is offered, the rate may not exceed the amount shown on the taximeter at the final destination. This provides a useful protection when a provider offers an upfront amount for a trip that would otherwise be metered.
