How the meter works
Time or distance, not both at the same time.
The Québec meter uses distance when the vehicle is above the tariff’s transition speed and time when it is below that speed. TaxiRates uses the mapped route and traffic-aware estimate rather than simply adding full travel time on top of the per-kilometre charge.
Airport connection
Rouyn-Noranda Regional Airport (YUY) uses the same provincial tariff.
The airport states that taxi fares are calculated per trip according to the price shown on the taximeter, making the provincial meter the right basis for TaxiRates estimates.
