What Prince Albert regulates
Prince Albert’s Taxi Bylaw publishes a general city fare of $3.50 for the first 33 metres, $0.10 for each additional 33 metres and $0.80 for each additional minute of time while the taxi is on a trip, including waiting at the passenger’s request. GST is included in the prescribed fare.
The same schedule separately lists $1.85 per kilometre and $45 per hour of waiting for destinations outside City limits. Because the city schedule has both distance and trip-time components, TaxiRates currently displays the official framework rather than creating a simplified total that could understate or double-count the meter.
Taxi access at Prince Albert Airport
The City’s YPA passenger page lists Checker & Family Taxi and Grey Cab as taxi services providing transportation to the airport. The airport is roughly 7.8 kilometres from downtown Prince Albert and sits northeast of the urban area.
That airport location matters because the by-law has a separate outside-city schedule. TaxiRates does not silently decide which directional rule applies to every YPA pickup or drop-off until the precise jurisdictional treatment is verified for the requested trip.
What a passenger can verify before riding
For a local Prince Albert trip, the posted taxi card should reflect the City schedule. For an airport or other outside-city trip, ask the dispatcher which published rule will be used before departure, especially where waiting or multiple stops are expected.
TaxiRates will move Prince Albert from guide mode to automatic calculation when the time component and YPA boundary treatment can be represented without approximating the municipal rule.
