How the RMWB fare works
Fort McMurray does not use one mandatory fixed taxi price. The municipality sets a maximum metered tariff. A brokerage can charge less, and a driver or company can also use a flat fare if that amount is communicated before the trip begins. TaxiRates models the published maximum meter so the estimate is grounded in the municipal ceiling rather than an operator quote.
Waiting time is kept separate
The RMWB schedule permits $0.60 per minute for waiting. TaxiRates does not convert ordinary Google traffic delay into paid waiting time because a route estimate cannot reliably tell when a taxi was actually waiting under the tariff. The calculated result therefore emphasizes the distance meter and explains that qualifying waiting can increase the final amount.
Airport taxi service at YMM
Fort McMurray International Airport identifies United Class Cabs as its licensed taxi provider. The airport taxi rule does not publish a separate passenger surcharge in the sources TaxiRates verified, so YMM trips use the RMWB fare framework unless a flat price is agreed before departure.
