How TaxiRates handles this market
Edmundston now returns a local planning estimate.
The city regulates taxi operations but does not publish a complete passenger fare schedule in the current by-law material. TaxiRates therefore uses a current Edmundston-specific public price reference before any province-wide fallback.
What the estimate shows
TaxiRates reports the fare estimate together with routed distance and estimated drive time when route data is available. The number is a planning estimate, not a guaranteed final taxi meter total. Traffic, stops, waiting, passenger charges and operator-specific conditions can change the actual fare.
For airport trips, a published flat or zone fare takes priority over a general local meter or planning reference whenever the trip can be matched confidently to that rule.
